1988 to 1992 – Principal Engineer and Joint Office Manager for North West Region based in Warrington for Wimpey Laboratories, recruiting and managing a team of 12 engineers, scientists and chemists and developing a geo-environmental business area for a national company and with full responsibility for profitability of the business operations
1992 to 2002 – Course Leader in HE, developing HND, BSc and MSc Programmes in consecutive years, recruiting students, building academic programme teams and developing CPD activities that link between BSc and MSc topic areas, enthusing colleagues and building strong networks with industry, plus developing research interests
2002 to 2007 – Director, Associate Director and Principal Geotechnical Engineer, taking on full responsibility for all geotechnical aspects across the three companies worked for during this period, most notably culminating with control for all geotechnical operations throughout Europe and Middle East with SKM, a 6,000 strong global consultancy, which involved travelling to carry out project work in Rotterdam, Benin (West Africa) and Sydney
